when can i start yoga after pregnancy?
If you enjoyed pregnancy yoga, you may well be keen to get started with postnatal yoga once baby has arrived. And that’s a great idea - postnatal yoga has tonnes of benefits including building core strength in the pelvic floor and core after birth; increasing self-confidence; reducing risk of postnatal depression and easing aches and pains. You can join me in my face to face postnatal yoga classes in Leeds and Bingley every Friday.
But like with all things postnatal, we need to take things slowly. If you had a vaginal birth with no stitches, you can start gentle postnatal yoga from 6 weeks postpartum. For every one else, it’s around 10 week postpartum, and you should have been signed off by your GP to exercise. And most importantly - you should feel ready to start.
The amount of baby classes on offer is overwhelming - and much of the time, newborn babies just aren’t that interested in super-interactive baby classes. So why not take the oppoortunity to focus on your own needs and take a postnatal yoga class which gives you the space to reconnect and recentre your body and mind?
If you’re looking for baby classes in Bingley or baby classes in Leeds - come join me every Friday, your first class is just £5!
And if you’re further afield - check out my brand new offer launching 31 March, The Mother Mindset, for online postnatal yoga on demand.
